Coppell (Dallas), USA: Hard Eight BBQ

This was recommended as “the BEST BBQ in Dallas”: clearly we had to check it out! What a truly Texan experience! You walk in to the side of the building where all the magic happens: The Pit. The food is gloriously displayed in front of you and all you gotta do is pick what you want! With a selection like this, it’s hard to make a choice, so more often than not, one ends up with leftovers… for the week! Shrimp poppers (wrapped in Bacon), Pork Ribs, Brisket, Half Chickens, Corn on the Cob (but wait….the corn is BOILED IN BUTTER), stuffed potatoes, baked potatoes…..and the list goes on.

Once you pick your food from the Pit you enter the second half of the place to pick your toppings and sides: creamy coleslaw, french fries, onion rings, bread, pickled carrots, jalapeños, onions, pickles…

Finally, you take your seat in the rustic dining room with all the other meat lovers and attempt to finish what you ordered. If you’re a meat lover and find yourself in Dallas, this place is a MUST try.
